Young Advisors is a consultancy and training service like no other. It combines adults with diverse experience and young people who have the first hand knowledge of what it is like to live, work, learn and play in today’s world. The Young Advisors’ Charity brings together 45 teams of young people nationally who have all been trained and mentored to help bring vibrancy to our delivery.
Our current customers include numerous central government departments, local authorities from up and down the country, NHS Trusts, PCTs, Police Authorities, Housing Associations and other third sector organisations. Recently we have worked with private sector company Virgin Media to ensure that young people have a voice in shaping their Corporate Social Responsibility Policy.
We deliver training for both young people and adults all with the aim of empowering young people, and raising the confidence of the adults who support them.

As a charity, all the earnings from our work are invested back into working with young people from the top 10% most deprived communities in England providing positive opportunities for them to learn, earn and improve their communities.
Young Advisor Core Training (1-5 days): A fully accredited learning programme which trains young people up to become Young Advisors. Includes learning in: Team working, negotiating, presentation skills, planning skills, problem solving, self review and evaluation, research skills, training delivery, youth proofing, community mapping and service appraisal.
The Psychology of Influence and Change (1 day or half day): To help learners understand the six rules of influence, to recognise and develop effective body-language, and to combine this skills to promote positive relationships that affect change in their community.
From Consultation to Participation (1 day or half day): To help organisations and workers understand the differences between consultation and participation and to move teams to a more coherent approach to youth participation.
How to Engage Young People (1 day or half day): To help learners understand how they can effectively engage with children and young people in their work and overcome typical barriers young people themselves identify.
Frostbites: get your teeth into icebreaking (1 day or half day): A full day of ice breakers, energizers and evaluation games to help workers keep their delivery fresh.
Mentoring and Coaching Skills (1 day or half day): To help young people or adults learn how to be a better mentor and coach their mentee to success.
Getting on Board (1 day or half day): Training for young people and adults who are becoming trustees to help them feel confident in their responsibilities and to empower them to be effective board members.
Train the Trainer & Peer Tutoring Award (1 & 2 day versions): To develop and hone your skills in delivering learning for people of all ages.
Inspiring Leadership (1 day or half day): What makes a leader? Can you become one? A programme on Leadership for workers and young people who are keen to take their involvement to the next level.
Creative Consultations (half day): Using arts and creativity to deliver engaging consultations with young people and children.
