Young People and Decision Making

In May this year, the Department for Education released a paper on Young People and Decision Making a discussion document on how to support young people’s participation in formal decision-making at national and local level.

Along with many others, Young Advisors do great work in facilitating young people's involvement in decision-making and social action both locally and nationally and we thank the department for citing our work in the paper.

As an organisation and movement of young people, we wanted to make sure we could continue to provide high quality opportunities for us all to make a difference and have therefore responded to this paper representing the interests of Young Advisors and the Youth Led Alliance of which we are part.

We'd like to say a massive thank you to all the Young Advisors and young people who took part in helping us formulate our response (444 in total) especially the YAs from:

  1. Sefton

  2. Sheffield

  3. Manchester

  4. Leicester

  5. Southwark

  6. Ilfracombe

  7. Merton

  8. Hammersmith and Fulham

who helped to make sure that we had representation from the North, Midlands and South, rural, urban and suburban young people.
