activities and learning to help Young Advisors network and develop but in the summer!

Hollowford is an outdoor pursuits centre, and on offer over the event will be caving,
zip wires, abseiling, canoeing, problem solving and team working activities, high ropes and for
those who prefer to be indoors, some learning and team working workshops.
As part of the residential, we will also be hosting our Annual General Meeting (AGM), where we
will report on what's happened this year, and how our work nationally is progressing.
The event is free to all attending Young Advisors and their Leads, as is all the accommodation,
activities, food and refreshments over the whole thing.
The event is only open to trained Young Advisors and their Leads, although Young Advisors
who are currently booked on to receive their training may also attend. There are only 70
places at the event, so book soon!

All Young Advisors under 18 must be accompanied by a member of staff from their host
organisation who will need to have gained parental consent for your attendance.
Rooms for both Leads and YAs are single sex, but dorm style, so Leads will share a room
with other Leads of the same gender, and YAs will also share rooms, but with other YAs. First
come first served! If you want to be with your team mates, try and get at the centre for 5pm!
The closest railway station to the centre is Hope (Derbyshire) and we will be running regular
minibus pick ups for the 2 mile journey from the station to the centre. You can also phone the
local taxi on 01433 620 525.
The Hollowford Centre is the principal activity of the Lindley Educational Trust. The trust has been helping young people through some of life’s transitions (primary school to secondary, school into work or higher education & moving into a leadership role at work) for over forty years. Hollowford aims to be a centre of excellence for the development of young people using outdoor learning.
The Centre is situated just outside the village of Castleton in the heart of the Peak District National Park, in the shadow of Mam Tor. The Centre was purpose built and offers comfortable accommodation, primarily in 4-bedded rooms and small dorms, many with en suite facilities. Leisure options include table tennis, a pool table, TV & video, a stereo system, a karaoke machine and wireless internet access. There is a small ‘tuck’ shop and a licensed bar is available on request. A wide range of challenging activities are available to suit all abilities.
