Lancashire: Larks in the Park!

Young Advisors from our Lancashire projects are organising a FREE Music and arts festival hosted by the Aspire Project showcasing some of the areas most talented young people is set to take place for its second year in Lancaster on Sunday 24th June.

Larks in the Park is running for its second year and will feature three stages – a main stage, acoustic and spoken word sage and urban stage in the wonderful setting of Williamson Park. This festival is unique in that all the performers are under the age of 22.

“Larks in the park is a great celebration of the amazing talent and skills our local young people have”
Mari Ryan (Aspire Project Coordinator)

This festival is also a celebration of the great work our local young people can achieve as 90% of its committee members who have been working closely with the Aspire Project (young Addaction Lancashire North) to plan and manage this event, are also under the age of 22.

“Being part of organising this event and given me the skills and self confidence to move forward in my life and get a place at uni. I’m in a band myself and its great that we finally have a big event like this to show Lancaster what we can do…”
Luke Tyson (youth committee)

On Top of all this we also have a huge inflatable football pitch, Body Zorbes and slacklinning, as well as facepainiting and other family friendly activities and food stalls.
