Quite a good day, YAs got some great national mentions, great feedback from recently trained teams, and an HRH Princess Royal event tomorrow

Young Advisors were commissioned by Andy Winning of the Dudley Community Safety Team to carry out an evaluation with the young people who were involved in the Staysafe project. The evaluation aimed to find out how successful and effective the scheme was in changing young people’s attitudes towards anti-social behaviour around the issues associated to ASB.
Initial Consultation
Young Advisors met with Andy in order to find out the background of the Staysafe scheme, what the scheme involved and how long it had been operating. The Young Advisors then identified a cross section of young people who were involved in Staysafe at different periods and from the different areas of Dudley. A list was then complied of initials and areas that young people were picked up in, from this we were then able to cross reference names and areas with personal details using the Connexions management information system. Connexions are a key partner in the delivery of follow up for the Staysafe project.
Aims
The aims of this evaluation were to:
• Evaluate both the parents' and young persons' view of Staysafe in an attempt to glean a better understanding of the overall effectiveness of the project;
• See whether it had influenced or led to a change in either the parent or young person’s lifestyle choices and behaviour;
• See if young people were involved in Anti Social behaviour again following Staysafe.
